About last week: 3rd November 2019

I continued working with a new client on their onboarding experience, building on the discovery activities from last week. I conducted a more thorough competitive review, and built a prototype proposing a new onboarding flow for my client. I find that interactive prototypes communicate design solutions much clearer than static screens, and try to base critiques on prototypes wherever possible. We then spent half a day together working through the details, which I'm looking forward to seeing in development some time next week.

I'm also planning on releasing tear downs of some of the competitor onboarding experiences during the week, so keep an eye out for these.

My main project is down to a skeleton crew while the development team work to complete the onboarding process I've been working with them on over the last weeks. Outside of a day or so each week to continue to support development, this means that I'll have some availability for projects in the lead up to Christmas. If you are over capacity and could use an extra hand with some user research or experience design, get in touch!

I saw out the week camping with Belle and some friends at Freemans Campground in Munmorah State Conservation Area on the Central Coast. We swam, watched dolphins tracking fish along the beach, and played some board games. The weather was warm, if a bit windy at times, but it was a great way to unwind at the end of a stressful week.
